The Foundry specializes in non-ferrous metal castings, made using the green sand and airset molding processes.
We currently have two Pillar lift swing induction furnaces. The larger one uses a number 225 crucible and the smaller one uses a 125 crucible.
The pouring weights of castings range from 1 ounce to 1200 pounds in brass and up to 400 pounds in aluminum. We specialize in smaller production runs, general under 1000 pieces per order. We have added a semi-automatic molding machine to cover orders in the range of 1000-5000 pieces.
The Molding processes used are, squeezer, Roto-Lift, floor, bench, automatic and airset.
The core making processes used are, oil sand, shell, and airset.
The foundry has its our own gating, risering and pattern repair workshop.
The foundry occupies 14000 square feet of production area with a pouring capacity of 5000 lbs of castings per day.
All melting is done on our two pillar electric induction lift swing crucible type furnaces.
Our cleaning area has two 36 inch vertical bandsaws for cutting gates. We have two 3 inch belt sanders for sanding flashing and gates/risers from the finished part.
All casting are shot blasted in our Goff shot blaster. If the part does not fit in the shot blaster then we hand sandblast the parts.
When designing a part we work with two local pattern shops here in Chippewa Falls or one of your choice.
If machining is needed for the part we work with several machine shops in town or we can work with one of your choice.
Most of our employees have gone to AFS school in Chicago for training in their specialized profession as well as extensive in house training.
